Multi Use Latches
Here’s one style of multi-use latch. it can be used on refrigerator doors to keep babies out. It can be used anywhere you have two flat surfaces. it’s very simple but difficult for toddlers to open. This little gem is very useful. It can be operated with one hand, has a locking action knob on the front as a first step and then two tabs located on opposing sides need to be depressed at the same time to open it. The strap can be adjusted for length, used only with the locking portion, reversed for placement on various applications or just used right out of the box as it is pictured here. There are many vendors selling this same product. We have purchased many of these from Redtron. It works well to secure stainless steel appliances like dish washers, refrigerators and garbage can lids. The black color blends well with stainless steel. They’re also available in white.
This multi-latch has many uses. it does not have a two stage security system like the product pictured above. There are two tabs on either side of the latching portion.
